Life is always a good thing. It can be crazy. It can be great. And it can be not so great. But it is always a blessing. And even not-so-great days are good days because they are days. Life can be a *roller coaster or a ferris wheel. Mine has been a little bit of a small roller coaster lately, but that’s ok. My worst day is someone else’s dream day, so what do I really have to complain about? It has been a while since I’ve written because of my ride lately. So I just wanted to write a little something.
So last Friday, I had a minor medical procedure done. To say that I was a little bit loopy doesn’t quite cover it. I don’t remember too much, but I do remember crying to my dad telling him how very, very lucky I am to have my family and my friends. It just got me to thinking a lot about the people who are in my life and where my life would be without them. And mostly, just how lucky I am.
My mom and my dad are simply the best. They have always been there for us, in the good times and the bad. They have cheered us on, taught us manners and the difference between right and wrong, punished us when we needed it, motivated us, and been there when we needed them the most. And I was lucky enough to also have an incredible stepmother and a wonderful stepfather, both of whom were more like second parents to me. My siblings are the best. My family is the best… my aunts, my uncles, my cousins, my nieces and nephews, even a great nephew (!!!), and my grandparents. (happy 93rd birthday, Pa!)
I can say the same thing about my friends. I have really leaned on them a lot lately and I am here to tell you that I have the best friends ever. Some of them, I may not see that often, but they are always there for me. And some of them I see often and they’re still there for me. My friends are my family. I am so, so lucky to have them, each and every one. They laugh with me, scold me when I need it (real friends do that when you need it), inspire me, cry with me, and are just there – through the good times and the bad.
So if any of my family or friends are reading this – THANK YOU. YOU ARE THE BEST!!!
